Phoney Fungi

The point of this post is to show that you don’t need the latest camera to get out and shoot fungi, these were taken with the Samsung Galaxy S20 on a bike ride with the family along the Pipeline Track, near Neika on the foothills of kunanyi / Mt Wellington.

Clean the lens, check the light, get low and look for composition, hold it still, check for focus, good for go. Get out there and shoot!

Thanks for visiting 😀

  1. One of them (the fifth from the bottom) looks like a chanterelle but I’d have to see it underneath. Even so, it’s always best to be 100% sure. Also it helps if there are others like it around (and there usually are). But for a photo shoot, the poisonous ones are prettier.

    1. That one was by itself. There’s a one colloquially called a golden cap here which I think looks similar, popular with some mischievous folk who make a tea ☕️ and get trippy. I’m not game to play that game.

  2. Oh my gosh that’s a Great variety of mushrooms! On a bike ride! Well, the first thing and most important we need to take a photo is to see… and it seems that you did very well in that department. Phones these days do a great job.
