Built In 1980 by the Hobart City Council, the West Hobart “Snake” bowl was the second of it’s kind in the Southern Hemisphere and is one of the world’s oldest.
Located at John Doggett Park, Tasmania’s spiritual home of skateboarding, the 100m long concrete bowl with 3m high walls has been ridden by international stars including US skateboarding legend Tony Hawk in the late ’80’s.

Interestingly, Google says it has a wheelchair-accessible entrance! Good luck with that!!!
Not sure about the wheelchair access, but for those who are able, it looks like a fun ride around the snake.

Beyond my skill level, but I just realised what the wheelchair access is for … carting unskilled folk out! ;P

Thanks, I took this with my phone and thought it deserved some special editing treatment with all that colourful graffiti!
