A very rare sneak peek at our humble allotment.

Definitely no mansion, our modest home sits on 1.5 acres on the foothills of kunanyi/Mt Wellington, just 7km from Hobart’s General Post Office.

I bought a paddock with grass up past your waist and not a wallaby to be seen for the first 15 years. Now there are wallabies everywhere, and the grass … though it is winter.

Over the back fence is acres of bush laced with a few discrete tracks which lead to my giant shared back yard mountain featured in most of my posts π

We’ve lived here for around 30 years and I still pinch myself!

These photos were taken with the Laowa 7.5mm lens which gives a roughly 90 degree view on the OM-1.
What a beautiful spot on this earth, and – to your luck – so far away from the madness of mankind. π Best wishes

Thank you, that’s probably what I like most, I was raised in the madness of the suburbs π

I see. In Germany, weΒ΄re somehow right in the middle of the madness.

Thanks John, just a tad greener than your beautiful mountainous abode π

Your home is WAY greener! π We do have lots of green high in the mountains though, it’s so beautiful up there at 8000 feet! That’s as high as I can drive, but Mount Charleston is right there at 11,916 feet. β€οΈ

Your mountains should be covered in mountain bike tracks by now, whatβs wrong with you people! π

Love the way you describe the lenses view, a photophobic or cameraphoic guy, I mean in a good way, wish I can take pictures like that π

When you find a place you love, you’re wise to hang onto it as long as you possibly can. I can see why you love it there.

The only thing missing is a lovely beach – but there really not that far away π

Wow Tone! I’d be pinching myself too. You’ve got your own slice of heaven right there, and only 7k from the CBD. When we lived in Melb, we had Tassie as the retirement plan – but ended up back in Perth to be close to family. Thank you so much for sharing. It’s beautiful!

Thanks Sandra, I’ve never visited Perth .. yet! The plan is to go for a big drive around our big brown northern island when we retire – if we can afford the fuel by then π

Cheers! Most of the green ground at present is moss, I have to feed the ponies hay. Still, moss is supposed to be a great carbon sink so I’m doing my bit π The wallabies are eating everything, even stuff they’re not supposed to. The only place kind of safe is our enclosed vegie garden, but there’s not much growing in there at the moment. I did put in some garlic the other week π
