Faeries left their little parasols out after the rain!

I found this intimate group of three lovely Mycena interrupta just off a fire trial not far from my home after a few days of rain. Of all the photos I’ve taken, these are my favourite fungi shots of all time, one in particular.

The “in front of the scene” shot above, was taken with my phone, immediately after the image below was captured, which can be seen framed in the camera’s LCD screen.

This single image is made of 48 photos, each at a different focus and is my first fungi image EVER that I’m absolutely happy with technically. I exposed to preserve detail in the highlights and maintain the colour without the need to saturate. The focus and sharpness I believe are the best I have ever achieved.
Thank YOU – out of all the kazillions of webpages, for having a look at mine 🙂
Magickal! Now that I see the actual size of them from the phone photo, I’m amazed even more.

Thanks Morgaine, I should take a little ruler, it is hard to indicate the scale.

Thanks, I checked last week, I thought they might glow in the dark, but they don’t. That would have been truly magical!!

Very cool shrooms. You seem to be at the center of the mushroom greatest diversity in form and color.

Thank you, my range of exploration is currently limited by time and an ageing dog that likes to amble with me, but I’m pretty lucky to back onto some lovely native bushland! I’ve lived here over 25 years and still discovering new things and surprises in the bush 😀
