Translucent Fungi

[5 Photos] – This stuff is weird, like water with a skin, and, it grows seeds?

Another type of translucent fungi below, Tremella fuciformis. I see quite a bit of this stuff around.

There seems to be this strange crossover between fungi, slime-molds and lichen, demonstrated in the photos above and below. But they are not the same, or apparently related.

    1. Thank you! You might be surprised, they have a great gift of hiding until you start properly looking – and even then they are easily missed. Best hunting is in winter/autumn after a few days of rain and then a day or three of sunshine!

    1. Thanks John, They were here a long time before humans, and have survived and adapted many changes, pretty sure they will out do us 😀
      I’m set up in my new “home” now and sorted PC/internet. It was a BIG day yesterday moving, but I slept so well last night! Easily the best night’s sleep since early last December 😀

    Did you travel to another planet to capture these shots? 😀 Definitely the most unusual fungi! The green one looks like a tiny bird bath made out of flowers. 🙂

    1. Thanks for thinking of my Morgaine 😀 Still not fully over it but much improved thanks, trying hard to be sensible and look after myself, except that trip to Jupiter to get these shots 😉
      It was a BIG day yesterday moving, I’m now set up in my new “home” and sorted PC/internet. I slept so well last night! Easily the best night’s sleep since early last December 😀

      I understand fungi used to be bigger billions of years ago! Imagine a literal fungi forest!! Now I’m thinking of giant insects, maybe not, lol.
