These are the last photos I took of the lovely group of Mycena Interrupta as I wasn’t able to get back up in the bush. I feel though, I was very fortunate to find them and see them at their blue best!
Interestingly, these fungi have a Gondwanan distribution pattern, being found in Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia and Chile!

I also found some other fungi during my trips to the Fairy Parasols, I hope this one brightens your day, there’s a few more to show you yet in the next post π

On Monday, I also went for a very brisk ride! You can see kunanyi/Mt Wellington with a coat of icing in the background! I haven’t been riding for about 5 weeks due to too much other “fun” – and the weather, so it was good to get back on the bike.

I set up my phone on video beside a jump, this is a single frame of me getting a little air ;P

While I might be mad, I dreamed I could fly!
Never let your fears get in the way of your dreams π
Thanks for flying with me.
Wonderful pics, Tone, that was a great flight! The mountain looks beautiful, it must be very tall to have so much snow up there. I’m guessing that the tower on the mountain top is a television tower. Have a great week!

Thanks John, wonderful day! The mountain is just over 1200 metres high and usually gets snow at least two or three times a year. Weather systems generated from Antarctica hit Tasmania regularly in winter, depending on warmer weather from the mainland which forces it back down. Though it can get very windy here at times, we don’t suffer from tornadoes, cyclones, hurricanes and the like.

That’s 3700 feet or so, not bad. It’s great that you don’t have tornadoes or cyclones! Our Mid West area is tornado alley! The Mojave Desert is very windy at times with windstorms lasting a couple of days sometimes.

I keep forgetting your season is the opposite of ours. You must be going into mid-winter now.
Your blue mushroom series was really good. We don’t have anything like that here, so they seemed to be like fairytale mushrooms. The detail was excellent.
What will you do for an encore?

Hi Anneli, Thank you. I just finished editing the next series … surprise, as always π
Though the shortest day has just passed, I’m already noticing extra light at the end of my work shift – won’t be long and I might be able to get some sunsets π

That’s how we are in December and January – looking for an extra minute or two of daylight every day.

Thank you, exercise is great for the mind as well as the body. I forgot to mention, I got a flat tyre not long after the jump pic. Though it cut my ride short and I had to push home, I still had a smile on my face, a lovely day π

Thanks, it’s a 2021 Scott Genuis, which I converted into a “Mullet”, by putting a smaller 27″ rear rim/tyre with 29″ front. It is better for tight corners climbing and increased the head angle so it’s better downhill also π
