Firstly let me bore you with the old faithful Purple Beard which I visit most days before I get onto “FIND OF THE DAY”.

After spending some time admiring Purple Beard and enjoying it’s smile, I begrudgingly set off for home as it was time to get ready for … work I walked down a track I often take back home, hurrying, running late, still scanning sides of the track in hope of a new find. Then, I saw it. Tiny!

I sat my camera down on the track near it, tied Ralphie dog up to a nearby tree and went back to view my prize … though I knew where it was, I couldn’t see it! Had I imagined it? It took a good 5 minutes before I found it hidden on the forest floor, these are similar but much smaller than the Greenhood Orchid I posted previously and so hard to see in the undergrowth!
I only took this one photo and hurried home … I couldn’t wait until tomorrow …
Purple Beard is so aptly named. And Tiny is so tender and tentative, captured beautifully!

Thank you, they are incredibly intricate for their size and every time I visit they have changed. Any kind of breeze is the biggest challenge trying to photograph them.

Always fun to find a new flower! Some new wildflowers sprouted this year that I had never seen before.

Some of the orchids I found have gone now. I hope the flowers you found were native and not weeds, I’m finding more Foxglove in the bush this year 😞

I’m not sure because everyone calls else calls them weeds, not flowers. Invasive species can really destroy a natural habitat.

There’s a few plant/flower identifying apps in the store, might help you find out :😀

Wow, the first photos show the flower just flowing out. Amazing!

Will this tiny one also be a purple bearded orchid? They’re so beautiful. I like the fine spider web design on the header photo too.

Thanks, I found a spider on tge orchid bud last night:D The first bud image is from the same beard plant – it has 3! The top one STILL hasn’t opened.
The last pics are a new species find for me, a Maroonhood, similar to the Greenhood but much smaller and even harder to spot!

I’ve been waiting for this one to get damaged as it’s right on the corner of two tracks! So far, so good👍 I have more editing to catch up again 🤔
