Sundown near Stanley

Heading back to our accommodation for the evening, it was a race to get to the Black River mouth as the sun set .. or rather the earth turned to hide the sun over the horizon for another night.

Looking at “The Nut”, Stanley. Next post, we’ll take you for a walk on top of it!

MUSIC: Well, I was going to share just one track called “Jungle”, but when that finished, this video started. I would feel I’m robbing you if I didn’t share and entire live set from this wonderfully talented young indigenous lady, Tash Sultana.

When I first heard her work on the radio, I thought she was with a band – until I watched her solo looping wizardry on YouTube. I was lucky enough to see her live in concert here in Hobart a few years ago, I stood two rows from the front, captivated and spell-bound, she fully engages with her audience.

Tash Sultana – Notion EP on green vinyl.

I hope you enjoy watching and listening to this as much as I do, crank it loud, let it flow over you. It’s worth hunting out her earlier “bedroom” and busking videos too if it floats your boat.

By the way, Jungle is at the very end of this concert. Take your time, enjoy the journey.

    1. Thank you Susan, it’s not had to recommend Tash, diverse and immensely talented, I’m glad you enjoyed her, she gives me chills every time I hear her! Takes me back to the magic of seeing her live in a much more intimate setting than the one I shared 😀

      1. Not too near us, but there are many fires. Seems to be getting worse every year as we get more and more drought time each summer. I feel so sorry for all the little animals that can’t escape the fires.
