Fitbit have recalled all Ionic Smartwatches as the battery can overheat and pose a burn hazard.
The watch was produced between 2017 and 2020. If you have a FitBit Ionic you are advised to stop using it. A refund and special discount on a new watch may be available in your region for a limited time ($300 AU in Australia) – even if you’re not using it like me.

Apparently emails have been set out to registered users of the FitBit app, however, I did not receive one and was notified by a friend – which is why I’m raising awareness here.
More information can be found on the FitBit website HERE.
I hope you like my product photos, I’ve been playing with and learning how to use flashes properly over the past week or so for an upcoming wedding to be held in a dark location!
Seriously considering the new OM Solutions OM-1 as a worthwhile camera upgrade to provide me with a spare body for second lens and backup.
The photo is very good! And, what a black eye for the company, wow.

Thanks John, over 1 million units sold apparently. I did experience some tingling with mine but it seemed to depend on which watchface I chose. I switched to Garmin mainly for better battery life and had been considering selling the fitbit.

Good thing I don’t have a Fitbit.

Well that depends, I’m chuffed to get $300 back from them, just lucky my arm didn’t ignite 😉 I switched to Garmin quite some time ago.

Interesting thing about the battery. We just had a funny thing happen to the batteries in the remote that operates the gas fireplace. It stopped working properly and the battery was overheating so much we could barely get it out of the remote. Scary. It was too hot to hold.

While editing photos just then I had my phone plugged into the USB and the cord got so hot it was melting! Do you think the Chinese are trying to kill us in or homes?!!
