(Cradle Mountain Part 6 – 8 Photos, click to enlarge) –
The last series of images from our Saturday hike at the National Park. We finish off with a short walk along the shores of Dove Lake to Glacier Rock and return, before catching a bus back to the visitors center.

The day however, does not end here. Before we head back to Peppers Lodge for dinner, we visit “Devil’s at Cradle” wildlife Park, a unique world class Tasmanian conservation sanctuary with Tasmanian Devils, Quolls and wild Wombats up close … coming up in the next post!
It’s still beautiful country in the grayscale mizzle! 😎

Thanks John. By missing out on the iconic and beautiful rugged mountain backdrop that the tourists come to see, the weather had me looking at the place in a way I otherwise might not have, as I would have been distracted by these overwhelming distant surrounds. It gives us an excuse for another trip back 🙂

Thanks, I expect it will be very colourful up there in a few more week with wildflowers and new leaf growth, there were lots of new buds forming. We probably won’t get a chance to go back until after Christmas due to work commitments.

What a nice hike. Really loving the orange tinge on the leaves. Are they just like that? It is not fall there, is it?

Thank you. It’s spring here but it’s been wet this year and seems to be starting late in the highlands. We only have one native deciduous birch called fagus, so yes, they’re just like that. Most of my images have not been over saturated 🙂

Thanks Wayne – and for the feedback on my watermarks. I wish I didn’t need them but I have had photos stolen previously. I try to keep them subtle and place them so as to not impact on the image too much. The circle is a high contrast edit of an Olympus lens aperture blades and I hand-wrote the TasView text, photographed it and edited it in a similar style.
