I missed Little Miss Tickles this morning, though admittedly, I was a little more at ease in the little room π (From previous post)
We’ve had another sleep-over guest, this time in a barn about 10 meters away from my dwelling, and equally as dangerous. This one will steal your heart!

My host told me about this beautiful Golden Brush-tail Possum sometimes sleeping in their shed. One day when I opened the shed door, this adorable fur ball stared back at me!

I slowly shut the door and raced off to get my camera. On my quiet return, I just watched it for a while while it got used to me being there, then I was treated to some beautiful heart melting poses!

Brush-tail possums are about the size of a large house cat, and are usually dark brown/grey in colour. This one is not albino, but a pretty rare genetic mutation that gives it a lovely golden coat. You rarely see them!

I felt so privileged to get this close to it and have it trust me enough to spend some time getting these shots, without it bolting off.
Thanks for visiting, you can have your heart back now π

I could tell you it’s a drop-bear, that’s another Aussie joke on tourists, beware the drop-bears!!

Thanks Anneli, apparently the owners here have watched it grow up, so that is why it was so friendly π

What an adorable and beautiful little creature! It’s also great that, in your temporary home, you get to see different photogenic animals from time to time. π
I have to admit, the tiger snake was stunning too. But if I had to choose, I think Iβd still go with the possum.
All the best Tone!

Thanks Marc, there’s more animals to come, they seem to be literally throwing themselves at me at the moment, but I’m too busy to keep up with the posting … and replying to your kind comments in a timely manner π

One of the sweetest animals I’ve ever seen! I wonder if it has a social media account as it seems to enjoy posing for photos. π

Maybe I should set up one for it, it was very photogenic. I haven’t seen if it’s hanging out there since, a little bit on my small plate at the moment, I can barely keep up posting on my blog .. and replying in timely manner. Thanks Morgaine π
