It’s been a busy and varied month since my last post about my home for sale. The day after posting, we received an offer, an agreement was reached and yesterday the contract went “unconditional”. So the house is now sold and will be finalized around mid October.
I haven’t been taking many photos, but earlier this month we had a super blue moon – with the next one not being for another 37 years from memory. I happened to go outside just as it was rising above the wattle trees! Managed to grab my camera and reel off only one shot before the cloud quickly moved in!! Incredibly lucky to guess the approximate exposure and settings first off.

Only moments later … and it didn’t get any better.

One reason I’ve been going outside more, at my current abode in a neighbours bungalow, I have a rustic outside toilet, referred to as an out-house back in the day! To be fair, at first I wasn’t that impressed, but I quickly came to love that it forces me outside to observe the world around me more.

And here’s another one of those unexpected WOW moments that I wouldn’t have seen without that outside toilet …

Above is the first “test” shot I took with my bungalow pictured bottom right, tripod not even level and the sky was cranking with Aurora visible to the naked eye, even with an almost full moon out!
By the time I leveled my camera and made some adjustments, the show began to wane and quickly dissipated.

Despite apparently being the warmest August on record in Tasmania, the wind and rain have been almost relentless!! Below was an experimental shot of the rain, just for laughs.

I have another busy month or so ahead of me, sorting out some storage and moving out of our home and cleaning before settlement. Not sure how my blog posting will fare … but I’ll attempt to keep you posted 😉
Enjoy the world, it really is beautiful.
Here’s a tune by “Beans on Toast” called “Watching the World Go By” for some inspiration.
Beautiful pictures of the supermoon and the aurora borealis!
Moving, no matter how fantastic the new place you’re looking forward to may be, is sometimes a bit sad—especially when it’s from such a beautiful estate like yours. I can imagine that the feeling is bittersweet.
I can only hope that you move to an equally wonderful place or somewhere that truly feels like “home.”
All the best, Tone!

Good to see you here again! Congrats on the house sale!
Super photos! The Aurora shots are amazing!
Is it just me or does the cloud in the left corner on the first Aurora shot look like an alien space craft? 😀
