I don’t often publish phone shots – though I take lots of photos, I prefer the better images from my cameras for publication. Here’s a selection from the last week or so, some are perhaps more personal than images I take on my camara’s.

We’ve had some pretty crap weather lately, but it makes for some lovely vista’s of the snow covered mountain that lurks behind Hobart.

Not a great photo, that’s the 104 MP camera with 10x optical zoom on the S22 Ultra that is supposed to be the bee’s knees. But anyway, my daughter spotted this beautiful big Wedge-tailed eagle just behind our property.

Homelessness in Hobart has never been so bad, with a lack of affordable housing and cheaper rentals. Sadly, even God’s door is shut to the unfortunate transient souls! Most of us are only one or three pay packets away from this sad situation. A society should be judged by how it treats it’s most vulnerable. Housing, or at least decent shelter, should be a basic human right.

While I’m currently a bit transient myself, I’ve been lucky to have some lovely neighbors looking after me and letting me look after their properties while they are away. And I’m also looking after myself, eating well, with roasts being a favorite! Easy to prepare and cook, and nutritionally delicious!

Unfortunately I have to say goodbye to these two beautiful mates. They were supposed to go yesterday (Sunday), but the weather was rubbish and I didn’t fancy towing them for some distance in a float with strong winds and rain.

They are like big dogs to me, the big one, Trojan, loves a big pat and the occasional beer! The smaller Snowy is very shy, but he will now cautiously eat out of my hand. They are both beautiful beings and I will miss them after 20 odd years of companionship. Luckily I have found them a good home with another horse and pony.

My Salamanca Market neighbors Golden Retrievers wondering why they aren’t getting a pat. I can’t resist wandering over and giving them a hand each behind the ears!

My late Mum gave me this coaster which I recently re-discovered. Not sure about the “strong and manly”, but that’s probably my self-doubt, but the rest of it is bang on. I don’t let too many people get close.

A wallaby outside my bedroom window in the morning!
He was quite trusting and friendly.

I hoppy you enjoyed a little peek into my life down south in Tasmania, it’s a great place to live. Thanks for stopping … bye! 😀

    1. Thanks Morgaine, It was very important for me that they stay together, I think the little one would fret without his mate, and it didn’t feel right to sell them – it would be kind of like selling your children. The lady that’s getting them is also and animal therapist, so maybe she can help Snowy overcome is lack of trust in people 😀

  1. Phone cameras sure are handy and have come a long way in quality. This is a nicely seen collection whatever camera you use. You’ve heard the quote ‘the best camera is the one you have with you’.

    1. Indeed! While the Pen-F is usually in my ute, it’s not usually in my pocket, and sometimes you would miss the shot if you weren’t quick enough. While the images are good enough for screens, I’d be reluctant to print any 😀
