Bug on bearded friend

I visited my beautiful purple bearded orchid friend again, to find a bug nesting on the top unopened bud. The second bud was also beginning to open.

I decided to start shooting from the top while the bug was still. It wasn’t until I was editing these later, that I noticed his leg and wing are damaged.

The second bud opening …

And if your not sick of her, the bearded lady smiling in the sunshine! This stunning little orchid is lasting longer than I expected 😀

Thanks for visiting, I think she wants a kiss!!

    1. Thanks Ali, I used to shoot with Nikon too 😀 I love the compactness and weight of the M4/3 system, 100% happy I switched to Olympus/OMD! I don’t miss carrying 8kg of Nikon gear.

  2. I don’t usually give bugs a second thought except for how to avoid them, but you actually have me feeling sorry for this one. How observant of you to notice his damaged leg and wing. Poor little guy. I hope it doesn’t hurt.

      1. Even a little bug is to be pitied when it’s hurt. Not sure the vet could do much for him. Hahaha. The idea of it…. Still, I did feel sorry for him when I saw the picture.
