Proud Dad moment

I don’t normally share personal moments or family here, however on this occasion I just want to say how proud I am of my eldest daughter, who graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Zoology. She’s now officially smarter than me!

The last year has been pretty full-on for her, studying mostly remotely online because of Covid and just prior to that completing a 4 month exchange to study at Guelph University in Ontario, Canada.

Above with her sister in the middle, who has one year remaining on a Bachelor of Medical Research and at right, my neighbour/mate Evan’s daugher, who also graduated with a Batchelor of Science.

These two graduating girls (who I won’t name for privacy reasons), first met before going to Kindergarten, and have been inseparable best mates through Primary School, High School, College and Uni. They both went to Canada but studied at different Universities there before meeting up again for Christmas in Toronto and last New Years in New York before returning home.

Congratulations girls!! The world awaits.

    1. Thanks so much. Both daughters still live at home so we can’t be too bad. I put their keen will to learn and educational success in the great grounding they got at the public primary school they all attended, I never loved school like they have.

      1. I used to read to them every night when they were little, fond memories now for me.
Thinking back, they loved the science books and periodic table, but weren’t a huge fan when I read calculus to them πŸ˜‰

  1. Rightly deserved to be so proud of your graduating daughter and your younger daughter. Wow how incredible to be in Canada before all this change hit.
